PRODUCTION OF BIOMASS AND PECTINASES OF Polyporus squamosus IN AQUEOUS TWO-PHASE SYSTEM
نویسنده
چکیده
Studyon cultivation of Polyporus squamosusin aqueoustwo-phase systemconsisting of7% (wi w) polyethylene glycol (M" 4,000) and 7.5% dextran (M" 40,000) wasconducted. Fungusgrowth wasrestricted in bottom phase, while thepresence of endo-pectinase activity in one of thephases waschangeable duringthecultivation. All endo-pectinase activity excreted on the 3,d dayofcultivation wasseparated in the topphase. InitialpH of two-phasesysteminfluencedboth theproduction ofenzymesand fungus growth.

Draft Genome Sequence of Talaromyces cellulolyticus Strain Y-94, a Source of Lignocellulosic Biomass-Degrading Enzymes
Talaromyces cellulolyticus (formerly Acremonium cellulolyticus) is a promising fungus for cellulase production. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of T. cellulolyticus strain Y-94. The genome is 36.4 Mbp long and contains genes for several enzymes involved in the degradation of lignocellulosic biomass, including cellulases, hemicellulases, pectinases, and amylases.

BACKGROUND Lignocellulosic materials have been moved towards the forefront of the biofuel industry as a sustainable resource. However, saccharification and the production of bioproducts derived from plant cell wall biomass are complex and lengthy processes. The understanding of termite gut biology and feeding strategies may improve the current state of biomass conversion technology and bioprodu...
متن کاملPenicillium echinulatum secretome analysis reveals the fungi potential for degradation of lignocellulosic biomass.
BACKGROUND The enzymatic degradation of lignocellulosic materials by fungal enzyme systems has been extensively studied due to its effectiveness in the liberation of fermentable sugars for bioethanol production. Recently, variants of the fungus Penicillium echinulatum have been described as a great producer of cellulases and considered a promising strain for the bioethanol industry. RESULTS P...
متن کاملPan-Cellulosomics of Mesophilic Clostridia: Variations on a Theme
The bacterial cellulosome is an extracellular, multi-enzyme machinery, which efficiently depolymerizes plant biomass by degrading plant cell wall polysaccharides. Several cellulolytic bacteria have evolved various elaborate modular architectures of active cellulosomes. We present here a genome-wide analysis of a dozen mesophilic clostridia species, including both well-studied and yet-undescribe...
متن کاملHeterologous complementation of a pyrF deletion in Caldicellulosiruptor hydrothermalis generates a new host for the analysis of biomass deconstruction
BACKGROUND Members of the thermophilic, anaerobic Gram-positive bacterial genus Caldicellulosiruptor grow optimally at 65 to 78°C and degrade lignocellulosic biomass without conventional pretreatment. Decomposition of complex cell wall polysaccharides is a major bottleneck in the conversion of plant biomass to biofuels and chemicals, and conventional biomass pretreatment includes exposure to hi...
